Notes About The Poem

We Wind Together, Stream and I

How can one hold such fondness for a spot?

Yet, here I fish, knee-deep in my best friend ...

We share our quiet meals of food for thought,

And leave the day concerned with its own end.

We charge not, he or I, those weighty loads,

Our mundane cares left to their worldly pace,

So when we've traveled all our earthly roads,

We'll wind them here, together ... in this place.

Hey, Buddy - thank you so much! My son and I used to fish all the time, now he's in California so we can't. I tried to go without him and it just depressed me ... it was OUR thing, ya know? (He came three years ago and we spent a whole day going to our fav spots). Great memories, though, and someday we'll go again. Blessings to you, Brother! :-)
