We Will Party Like There's No Tommorow

Why young lady are you singing Everything in this world has turned upside down Wherever I look all I see is sadness I can't think of any reason to exhibit such cheer Lord only knows how much we have all suffered Lame men and women are now walking the street Please sir do not be quick to judge All that we have today we will share and give Rare are the moments that we can be happy Today let the gloom stay away from this place Yesterday before the soldiers came we knew peace Life has a way of taking what was given I know these days won't soon be forgotten Killers can't be allowed to say the final word Enough I say why not choose to be hopeful True what you say but it isn't easy How will I get the pain out of my mind Even my shouts are weak little whimpers Realistically things they seem so bleak Enemies are out there waiting oh what can we do Sound the drums and ring the bells Now we will defeat them with celebratory sounds Open the floodgates joy will overcome them Test your faith and let the bagpipes roar One by one the enemy defeated Men and women we impart them our strength Open the gates invite them all in Rest assured we will know how to win Run with the wind wings of conviction On this day this war will be won and We will party like there is no tomorrow! Ah....what a delightful poem. I wish to run with the wind wings of conviction, Richard. :) Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could still see hope in the rubble of destruction. Hugs

If we see through Gods eyes we will know that there will be a wonderful result at the end of all our trials. Thanks Eileen. Hugs Rick.

You made a serious poem out of the topic but it was quite profound and beautiful, Richard. So true to your style! It must feel so wonderful to see the end of war.

I took it a different way then the sponsor wanted. I should probably pay more attention but I go where my mind directs me.
