We Will Miss You

When the needle went in…

You did not howl like you used to. 

We always cared for you. 

We remember when you started to care for us. 

When curiosity-

Formed into moments when you were uninhibited. 

And soon you would lay on us. 

Your heart would be slow. 

Your purr would be loud. 

You have now departed.

Like the strong oak tree they found you in-

That has since been cut down. 

But its roots are still in the ground.
