We Were Wed

At precisely nine seventeen pm forty-five short years ago, we were wed. And to me, it's just as if it were yesterday it's all still so fresh in my mind. I was so nervous; I fainted, falling flat on my face! And I awoke to the vision of an angel dressed in the purest white, sweetly smiling down on me. I recall the preacher was ready to panic, then suddenly, I was aware it was you. Our lips met, we laughed, and I stumbled to my feet embarrassed but unharmed. I will never forget the exact moment that you said I do, for at precisely nine seventeen pm, we were wed! (Free Verse) 6/28/2018
