We Welcome May
The month of May unfolds her blossoms soon;
she comes betwixt mid-spring and summer days-
tween buds of April and full bloom in June.
Spring daffodils and tulips paved the ways-
then followed by the spread of verdant haze,
as budding limbs prepared for their new phase.
Soon bursts of color, like pink peonies,
and deep green leaves will paint a brilliant hue,
since rain in early spring did well-appease
and energized bold blossoms to accrue.
From pastel shades, bright landscapes will ensue
to weave May's color scheme for us to view.
Our May- her name alone lifts up our hearts;
we've honored her with love through all the years.
This child of spring displays earth's vernal arts
till summer's full maturity appears.
May days are special- summer's pioneers-
set up June's gifts before she disappears.
Then, lovely May will yield to next month's clime-
when midyear month of June brings summertime.
