We Want Love
What do you do when love just falls apart?
What can you do when someone breaks your heart?
Do you get up, move on, when you’re tempted to give in?
Is it worth the risk to try to love again?
What do you do when you’re left all alone?
What can you do when you’re cut right to the bone?
Do you take some time to heal or get right back in the game?
You know, odds are, it’ll all end up the same…
But that’s love! That’s love!
It’s like lightning from above!
What we yearn for! What we burn for!
What we’re always dreaming of!
Even if it kills us, when the push comes down to shove,
We want love!
What do you do when you’re sitting in a pub
Or walking down the street or maybe dancing in the club
And you see someone, Yes! That’s the one to make your life complete!
But you can’t think of a way that you could meet?
What do you do? Do you chase them down the hall?
Give your name and number, get a promise that they’ll call?
Then the long, long days of waiting, the truth slowly setting in…
They are gone, never to be seen again…
But that’s love! That’s love!
It’s like lightning from above!
What we yearn for! What we burn for!
What we’re always dreaming of!
Even if it kills us, when the push comes down to shove,
We want love!
What do you do in the middle of the night,
The ring’s still on your finger but your heart’s still full of fight,
And you know the best thing you can do is just apologize,
Do you say something or do you close your eyes?
But that’s love! That’s love!
It’s like lightning from above!
What we yearn for! What we burn for!
What we’re always dreaming of!
Even if it kills us, when the push comes down to shove,
We want love!
