Notes About The Poem

For the most part, the incumbent in Washington care nore about themselves than "We the People" who put them there. we must become more involved in our choices. A apparent to me that we have not made very good choices for some time now. Let's use this year to start changing that.

We the People

We the People
By Franklin Price

We the people very tired
Of incumbent Washington
Seems they run time after time
For profit and for fun

Should have learned our lesson
We vote them in again, again
To represent us, not forget us
The way they act is just a sin

The days they meet to make the laws
Are fewer year to year
Yet not afraid to raise their pay
For doing nothing that is clear

Their raises borrowed money
The country's deep in debt
Trillions not just billions
When we vote do not forget

They cannot pass a budget
Often shut the country down
Are not a part of royalty
Though they think they wear the crown

Their Party most important
Cannot reach across the aisle
To pass laws for the people
The common rank and file

Always blame another
Accept no blame for themselves
They act like spoiled children
Let's make them part time Christmas elves

This year is a big one
We should use our votes to shout
Washington not meant for life
So your ass is voted out
