We the People
The day the towers fell
Was a day to remember
For out of the ashes left
Arouse everyday heroes
People traveling in from near and far
Helping hands of strangers
Loosening the load
Whether it was making calls
To reassure families
Though their loved ones were missing
No stone would go unturned
Policeman, military, emts
First responders to the trapped
Still hanging on below all the rubble
Giving them hope
To keep on breathing
Keep on living
A glimmer of sun
Amidst all the clouds
From the walls and the floors
That came crashing down
We were expected to show fear
To show the same hate
We rose as a nation
Showing compassion
Showing strength
For no good deeds gets done out of evil
It's love that moves mountains
It takes not just one hand but millions
We will always rise up taller
We are the people.....
