We Thank You, Lord, For Granting Us Joy
We thank You, Lord, for granting us joy* midst our Bible meditation
Communing with us gloriously during times of devotion
Listening to our earnest prayer and plight’s intention
Hearkening to us express heartfelt supplication…
…Toward worship’s blissful divine fruition.
We praise You, Lord, for granting us joy, directing our choices
Bringing our will to Your sublime pleasure that blesses
Pulling us away from miseries of torturous places
Guiding us against wicked curses and offenses...
…Toward discipleship’s eternal causes.
We honor You, Lord, for granting us joy, empowering our faithfulness
Nurturing our minds with Your counsel’s wisdom and truthfulness
Propelling us to walk according to Your righteousness
Instructing us through Your Word’s steadfastness…
…Toward scriptural study's diligent effectiveness.
We esteem You, Lord, for granting us joy, healing our sin-ailment
Forgiving all iniquities we confess with humble acknowledgment
Sanctifying our hearts and souls with Your holiness-fulfillment
Reproving us through compassionate chastisement…
…Toward ministry’s sincere involvement.
We exalt You, Lord, for granting us joy, subduing our arrogance
Humbling us from disobedience due to self-dominance
Vanquishing our skepticism, vanity and ignorance
Driving us from lustful carnality's malfeasance…
…Toward service heavenly inheritance.
We glorify You, Lord, for granting us joy, upholding us in our difficulties
Enabling our commitment to overcome inabilities
Cheering us from discouragement-infirmities
Assisting us against weakness and frailties…
…Toward zealous reaching-out activities.
We hail You, Lord, for granting us joy, blessing our stewardship
Enabling us through Your might of sovereign leadership
Welcoming us around Your warm sweet fellowship
Offering to us Your valued precious friendship...
...Toward mission-support’s partnership.
*Psalm 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
