We See What We Want See
One day when I was walking in the park,
an old man was feeding birds from his hand;
as I stepped closer to make a remark,
birds fluttered about me- like a dreamland.
He smiled at me giving me some bird seed,
placing many seeds in my open palm;
he said the birds think he has the best feed,
I gave it a whirl trying to be calm.
The vision of the man and birds was sweet,
I never forgot that moment in time;
now, I too go to give the birds a treat,
this man and his birds was a gift sublime.
"And the birds twitter like whispering violins."
