We Said Goodbye But I Never Knew Why

When you left in the Uber
We knew it was the last time
That we would see each other
I never ran away
I often would pray for our renewal
I loved you beyond a measure of pleasure
You were the perfect treasure
That would never dissipate!
If there was any hate between us
I hoped fate would intervene one day

We said goodbye
But I never knew why
My moments of splendour with you
Taught me the value of your name
Love to me was never a game

Months have now passed
Yet I still remember
When you left in the Uber
I am glad you were a teacher
But know this
I was not a preacher of doom for our relationship
We said goodbye but I never knew why
