We Never Learn
I've had people, some that were classified as friends,
Take advantage and use me, and I pray the hurt someday will mend.
There are those, and they know what they've done,
But when the day comes and they have to answer to our Maker, where will they run?
Those unkind deeds are forgiven but they are awful hard to forget,
And the sad part is the friendship that ended in regret.
But on the up and up most mankind is of the forgiving nature,
Just wish we came with a warning light to let us know in advance when a breech of friendship
will occur.
Maybe I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer,
and I am sure not the brightest of stars,
But when you loose trust in someone, I think it is very hard to repair,
No matter how much you love them, or how much you care.
It's almost like a wound that refuses to heal,
All because someone lost sight of our values and the way we feel.
That is why we cannot allow ourselves to dwell on the emotions at hand,
We must forgive if we seek forgiveness that day in front of our Savior we all will stand.
