We Need Orphanages

We need orphanages With glass walls, So adults can Keep an Eye, A mind, and An ear on each other. We need orphanages So children can Be taken care of, Get three meals a day, Feel appreciated, or At least Respected. We need orphanages, Where adults can help Children relax, and Be children, not Having to be The adult any more. We need orphanages Where children do Not have to make Up lies for parents, Take care of parents, Or hide from parents. We need orphanages.

A very sobering poem. A very ugly reality for many children goes unnoticed.

Like that last stanza a lot...yet sadly the word has such an awful rep, probably b/c of Charles Dickens, for starters...Anyway, can't help but agree! :) gw

I have been dreaming of creating and directing orphanages for children since I was 8-years-old. I truly think God has this plotted out for me. It's my mission.
