We Must Now Get That Roof Up
Move faster do not tarry
the words the worker hears
we must now get that roof up
before the coming snow
Work faster do not tarry
the winter storms here
work faster in the rafters
work faster in the stores
work faster do not linger
no laughter on these floors
you are not here to muck around
your lingering deplored
Sometimes, we move to fast in life
don't take the time to see
the beauty that surrounds us
with natures loving seeds
we walk so fast past gardens
and do not see the rose
We walk in haste past rivers
we can not smell the breeze
Sometimes we eat our food too fast
and miss the joy of taste
sometimes we run and can not see
the silence and the fun
Sometimes we miss the birds in flight
the colours and the sounds
wrapped in thoughts of lovers plight
we miss what love abounds
Take the time to listen
take the time to care
Perhaps you might enjoy today
A little slower dear
