We Got the Blues

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: We got The Blues
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: May/1993

Man,
we got the blues
and
it ain't cool-

We skip school
We break rules

We talk trash
We drink booze

Man,
We got the blues
and
it ain't cool -

We stay out late
We lie straight

We do drugs
We be fools
We die soon

Man,
We got the blues
and
It ain't cool-

oh Ken this is a sad scene you set I just hope and pray the youth of today can be warned about these dangers:-( my son's 2 friends brothers died last year as a result of a drugs related incident - they think it's cool, it won't happen to them sadly these tragedies still happen:-( Written with tears in my eyes:-( hugs Jan xx

my son was close to quitting university last year he struggled so much emotionally with this tragedy and then the death of my father. Thankfully he is doing ok now but come December when they died it will hit us all once again. I wrote two poems which I read at their memorial service 'tribute' and 'birthday memories':-) Hugs jan xx

Sadly, it's true!...where do we start, whose to blame. Some argue that the internet and video games are the reason. I think it's part that, and parenting. Jan, I'm sorry to hear about your son's friends, I'm sure he's still going through their loss. Many blessings to you my friend. Stay strong, Ken
