We Cried

What would you do if squirrels cried
for missing trees
and butterflies wept
for polluted breeze?

...a whale shedding a tear
for an ocean of plastic
and seagulls wailing
for toxic trash so drastic?

What would you do if a harmonica played all alone
a metallic howl
telling us the Earth is in danger
and that we must act now?

Would you sob to the mourning moon?
Give it a try, it is not too soon.

It is sad. I never pick dandelions as they are food for bees, almost extinct at 1 point. Every species depends on another. On the beach, I always pick up other's trash. "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot" I'm very glad I found your poem. It's such a very important one!
