We Could Tell Grandma
Doggy?
The five-year-old shook her head, “no, thanks, Daddy.”
Kitty? Maybe sometime, not now.
Fish? Daddy asked hopefully.
Little Princess shook her head, brown eyes, big, hope-filled.
We would have to sneak him past Mommy.
Big smile. Okay.
We could not tell Grandma.
Burst of laughter. Yes, we could!
We could not tell Grandpa.
Head nod.
Daddy laughed, she was smart, this one.
They did not get away with it very long.
Have you ever seen a full-sized komodo dragon?
Within a year he went to live with grandma
Who sneaked him in.
