We Could Be Lovers

We could be lovers
Caught in the rain
You'd be my cover
You keep me sane
We could be soulless
We could be hopelessly in love
You'd forgive my boldness
If you'd care to notice
That you're flying like a dove
We could be lovers

But you don't want that
You don't want me
You don't want that
You just want to leave
You dont want that
And you just can't see
That we could be lovers
You and me

We could be lovers
Chasing the wind
Chasing the ghost
If mind, flesh and skin
We could be shallow
We could be shadows
Dancing on the wall
Yeah, we could be anything at all

But you don't want that
You don't want me
You don't want that
You just want to leave
You dont want that
And you don't want to see
That we could be lovers
You and me
