We Can Save Us

Our Congress George Washington cannot save
Honest Abe's rolling over in his grave
   So many lies, such deceit
It's well past time to unseat
Those Law-fakers ~ Hold the fire to their feet

G'day Gershon … the gap between politicians, public servants, and the people is growing all the time. My fear is that dissent might drive us to a Hong Kong situation and that would be tragic. Nicely said Gershon - Lindsay

I don't know if what just happened between the NBA (National Basketball Association) and the Hong Kong vs. China situation is on your radar or not, but it sure bears out your premonition. Thank you for your insightful words. Warm wishes, Gershon

"hold the fire to their feet" - as if we could! Would certainly like to see this.

Well not a literal fire... We've got to hold them much more accountable than we do, as does the news media. They play hardball with us; time for us to play hardball with them (Congress, that is). Thanks for the comment! :) gw

"law-fakers"! love that! For all the genius of the founding fathers, why didn't they set some limit on the number of laws? Or on the length of any one law... God Himself wrote only so many. But our congress writes unlimited laws, of unlimited length, seeking unlimited power... :(

Ha, ha. So true, about the number and length of all the laws. And at the municipal level too... Chicago just recently repealed two laws from the 1800's: One for spitting on the sidewalks, and two for jaywalking anywhere and everywhere in the city. We're making big progress here. Now if Texas will just repeal its laws against 'sodomy...' LOL. Thanks for the great comment, my friend! Warm wishes, Gershon

Fire will be burning at the polls... in 2020 ... you can fool people sometimes but can't fool them all the time

Ho, ho. Sure hope these clowns don't keep worming their way back to Washington! You are so right, Arturo: People are not fools. Once - OK. Twice -- no way! :) gw

Well, that's going some there (i.e., 'Never said better.') Thanks for the boost. Sooner or later we'll get rid of these law-fakers. (After all, if we don't vote 'em out, they'll stop breathing sooner or later. LOL.). Take care, my friend! ~ Gershon
