We Called It the Jungle
Walking the path among trampled branches
Spider web entwined in the fallen leaves
Eyes scanning for evidence of dreaded spider
Fear seeping in causing a momentary shudder
Wandering further to pick just the spot for a bed
Willows layerd will soften the place to lay our head
Birds song spread their encouragement of adventure
A place imaginations flourish in childish pleasure
The jungle a treasured childhood place
Lost in the wilderness no intruder to invade our space
Escape from reality to a place made our own
Huts built for shelter on rainy days, as we play alone
A place God made beautiful we could spend our day
Our special place, our dreams, a great place to play
