We Burned the Tree
We broke the world and now we’ll see
The wrath of nature’s revenge, violently.
Cities burn, towns flood.
We think we’re the owners?
We think we’re the good?
Billions of years before you and me, billions of years before our earliest ancestry. It was here spinning and here it will be when we’re a speck of its history, the speck that willingly burned the tree.
We broke the world and unforgivably we know how to fix it but greed rules humanity!
We broke the world. Nature waits patiently. To see us gone into its history. We broke the world.
We burned the tree.
