We Are Water

Like water, we flow incessantly
Since birth along the path of destiny
Adjusting, assimilating,
Serving our body, senses, ego, others
Mindlessly meandering

Pure and clean to earth from sky
Now polluted, tasteless

Brainlessly existing, copying others
Flowing along with wind, destination unknown

Used by other in the worst manner
Still living for them, trying to please them

Wherever we go, we become them
Following others, copying, changing

Our brain sleeps, we choose not to think
Unaware of what we are doing
Where we are heading

Finally, we merge in the ocean
Our identity lost, our individual existence unknown
Brain is idly tossing with waves
Enjoying its stupor

Profound poetry that harmoniously combines the metaphysical, psychic, and physical worlds. This is a one-of-a-kind and lyrical poetry; My warmest wishes for the competition, Rama. There are some parallels, but they are not identical; I was inspired by the 2017 film GUILLERMO DEL TORO and the famous poet Jalal al-Din Rumi. Because I cannot locate the original poem, here is an excerpt: (Unable to discern your form, I find you all about me). Blessings and best regards

The parallels struck me. How amazing, two persons thinking on similar lines for a contest. Interesting observation. The quote is wonderful. Thanks for your wonderful comments. Take care, God bless!

WoW! Rama, You have penned such a thought-provoking write on water. Good contrasting views on water as a whole. I don't think I’ll see the “role” of water the same way. Best wishes on the contest. PS, Thanks for your recent visits to my page; I appreciate the kind and encouraging comments that you left;-) Alexis
