We Are the Same
We are all born
There is no real divide
And once we are dead,
It’s the same that we have died
We all breathe air
And live on the same Earth
We all experience cycles
And rejoice in our emotional rebirth
We all learn to notice difference
Instead of what is the same
We are raised to feel unique
And our ego is to blame
We attach to the ego
Our scars are earned
When we separate from the ego
This is a smart lesson learned
We forget that we are all human
And racial divide earns keep
We forget that we are the same
And for this, I weep
