Notes About The Poem

How can we give billions in aid to other countries when we have homeless and hungry in our own?

We Are the Leader of the World

We are the Leader of the World
By Franklin Price

We are the leader of the world
At least that's what I've heard
Better get on board right now
If you did not get the word

We have so many followers
That magically appear
Ransom receiving allies
Getting billions every year

We have the military best
The strongest anywhere
When our allies need us
For almost nothing we are there

We can't take their money
'Cause what they have we had before
Might lose our closest allies
If we closed the giving door

Our infrastructure worn out
The homeless we can't miss
The hungry in the soup lines
With No pot in which to piss

Twenty trillion dollars
We're in debt and maybe more
We don't know how to play the game
But, then again, who's keeping score?
