We Are Old Souls

We are old souls April 27, 2014 at 7:16pm We are all old souls Full of ideas and dreams that fill our imagination We paint our thoughts on stone Fire and smoke open our souls Fire warms our bodies As the smoke fills our heads We let it sting our eyes and fill our lungs We share our drink and pass our food We share our memories with our song Our conversations and contemplations of life and death This we offer to each other We swing on the oaken door of history that leaves splinters in our hands So to remember our time Wondering what went before and wondering what will be The fire and smoke pulls this from us As it has many eons before to continue our stories Gathered in darkened caves Deep shaded forests, secluded beaches and desert lands Wherever we may find ourselves We share in our kindred reverie.
