WE ARE JUST FRIENDS

Look I know how it looks
and yes I see your eyes
but she’s just a friend
we share coffee we talk too long
sometimes we even laugh at the same joke

It’s nothing more than that
I promise I didn’t plan it
no hearts were harmed no rules broken
she just happens to exist in my orbit
like the neighbor’s cat or that weird plant in your kitchen

So relax a little
I’m still yours
our love isn’t hiding under the couch
we are just friends
honest to everything funny and ridiculous.
