We Are He Who We Seek

We are He who we seek

We are He who we seek
in the hall of mirrors,
wherein each form beheld
is but our reflection,
known when with God we meld.

We are He who we seek
but veil of forgetting
conceals this truth from us
so we’re plunged in darkness
by dark fears that nonplus.

We are He who we seek;
a concept that sounds vain,
so this truth’s frowned upon
until our ego dies
and we become twice born.

We are He who we seek
and life is but a game
of descent and ascent,
till God’s grace so reveals
soul’s glow and fragrant scent.
