We Are Complete
Sharing a warm woolen blanket,
we stoke crackling logs in the fire.
And a crescendo of flames flares
whenever bold breezes aspire.
A black horizon spills shadows
when a dying sun sinks from sight.
And embers bursting into sparks
confetti night with specks of light.
As snowflakes blanket trees in white,
their twigs snap with a crackling sound.
And hands clasped in a soft embrace,
we watch branches bow to the ground.
A shooting star unzips the sky,
knowing nothing less would suffice.
And a magic moon gilds the clouds
while beaming through crystals of ice.
Twinkling stars sprinkle ebony
with glitter at the sun's retreat.
And our love gets sealed with a kiss,
for together, we are complete.
