We Already Had That Book

Half of the kindergarten students said, “We already had that book”. I was not sure about it, I did not think so, but they were adamant. The other half yelled that they had never seen it before. They are apparently the non-listeners because I looked it up today. Yesterday when I looked it up, two of my pages stuck together. So, I did not see that I had given them this book and lesson on 9/02. It is now 11/16, and I gave it to them for a second time. The subject cannot be reiterated often enough, though. So, it is probably okay. I am the school counselor. It is my job to introduce them to a concept and revisit it. Kindness, cooperation, respect, responsibility, etc. I am not making the same mistake today though. I changed the lesson.

Nothing like the togetherness that is apparent when a teacher captures the interest of her pupils when she reads a story from a book.

I could not believe half said YES the other half said NO. I ended up visiting their class twice this week. They told the computer teacher that I call their bottoms "petootsies". She came in to tell me, thinking they had made it up. I verified what they said.

A BOOK.....A REAL BOOK.....are you trying to take these kids back to stone age times.....what next....a chalk board. Seriously Caren, there are so many lessons that deserve repeating the books should be dog-eared.

Thank you Gina. In 12 minutes I am giving them a new fresh lesson to make up for Monday's booboo.
