We

We are such a lonely species Shivering and defiant Putting on a brave face Comforting ourselves with wonder But who can we look up to Who amongst us would dare What solace is there ahead All this belief, in mystery, in wisdom Blind faith, blind without, blind within Forlorn in our cosmic corner With hope Shrug your shoulders And put them to the wheel Knowledge without end We soothe one another ©dbyrne jan 2013
