Wayward Pilgrim

Thou wayward pilgrim
Oh come rest thy weary soul
Down by the river Jordan

Thou wayward pilgrim
Unburden thine heavy load
Rest by the river of life

Oh wayward pilgrim
lift your dimmed eyes toward home
Oh what happiness awaits!

Oh wayward pilgrim
in yonder distance joy waits
Jerusalem, home sweet home

You remind me of a 5th grade teacher I had in Texas :) Great poem, I love the diction, it brings finesse to the piece... Love, J.
