Way Up North In the Ice and Snow
Way Up North in the Ice and Snow
By Elton Camp
Though I could adjust to living any place
The cold & snowy north I’d hate to face
I don’t care for such a region, by heck
Step outside, fall and break your neck
Imagine needing to buy things at the store
When you can’t move on roads anymore
Snow that threatens to make roof fall in
Why, I just wouldn’t know where to begin
Whether you live in a mansion of a hovel
There’ll be sidewalks & driveways to shovel
Snowdrifts extending so high up the wall
Some years, it will begin in the early fall
Stay outside too long and you just might
Lose your nose or fingertips to frostbite
Such severe conditions I don’t want to see
Living here in Alabama seems best to me
