Way Back In the Day

Why back in the Day,
When Black people didn’t get there way
Sitting out in the field
Waiting on somebody to get us healed
White folks just relaxing
Waiting on them to take some action
Now I’m sitting here in the present
Still some things is not that pleasant
People getting raped and beat
Children and Adults walking with nothing to eat
Some kids going to school
Some THINK THAT’S NOT COOL
SOME ARE TAKING ACTION
Others are just relaxing
Some people just don’t realize
What’s in front of us we need to visualize?
With all those white presidents and know one black
Plenty of us don’t know how to act
It’s they history they need to know
When blacks folks didn’t have no where to go
Now I’m sitting here in the future
Waiting on a new life to begin
With Barack obama change has come to America
We just got to ask our self
Did change come to our plans?
