Waves I Cannot Chase

I long to chase the waves
that call to me,
while in memories my soul goes flying
to lands untamed and free.

But I bear a burden
I cannot lay down,
a worn - out thread
and a frail, flickering frame.

So I cannot come.

Come, darling,
let's keep our minds calm
visiting nearby places of solitude.

The ending is very positive. Can one chase waves?

This took me many places emotively. It's deeper than some readers may first think and I enjoyed it very much even though its melancholy will linger with me.
