Waterc0lor Dreams In My Pastel Life

A blank canvass, empty of thought
nothing to give my life a full display of clarity
to guide my bated stultified excitement
I hold my life in full confinement

Birds in the sky you can see the world clearly
tell me can you see my life from on high
you who have a clearer view of the world’s expanse
Can you give me direction?

Can you give my canvas some bright colors of hope?
some light blue greens mixed with summer bright reds
before varied purples of summer clouds burst with rain
no worry, they may spoil parts of the day but they won’t last

She wears colors she loves with prints of summer flowers in bloom
fragrant gardenias throughout her hair enthrall my scent palette
engulfing my senses, draining the love from the air straight to me
her face remains fixed in my heart so pure, so rare and beautiful

Beauty not only approaches when she gets closer to me but
it precedes her in waves of past recollections of affections we shared
stimulating my mind to recall the same feelings on this soft afternoon
my soul thrives with those memories

My dreams of you embed themselves in my life’s fading dreams
you have filled my canvas with subtle and sublime colors of expectation
your delicate watercolors match my pastel shades
you are my muse and my inspiration

The inner spirit that lets me paint our love.
