Water

The waves are coming in
The sound of the water is all but familiar
I would let it touch my skin
I would let it wash me away from the world forever

As I held my breath and sunk into
I was swallowed with the world shut away
Given a chance to imagine anew
I was given an exacted moment to know I’m okay

And I never felt more alive being so enclose
Feeling so weightless with waters so heavy upon
Just a while more yet no longer... I rose
Revealing once again to the world I don’t belong

How long can I hold my breath under water?
How long more can I survive the world we build?
There is no need to really be better...
Simply a need to feel... and be real

The waves are washing out
I will hold my breath one more time
Will the waters wash away my doubt
To once more emerge... what will I find?

A feeling we can all relate to. Too early to give up though. Regards David in NZ
