Watching the Sun Rise

At first the sun's fingers
Poke up just a bit,
Seeming to find the ocean's ledge,
They grab a hold of it.

With radiant arms extended,
It raises itself higher,
Then sits upon the ocean's rim -
A fuzzy ball of fire.

My how I love that fuzzy ball of fire, all seasons I might add, especially in the winter, when I need it the most. Your poetry is exquisite. God bless.

I picked up Raven's children's poetry book, Dozy Poems, Cozy Days, last month for my nephew. Not only did it calm him down during nap time but my sister said it was the perfect introduction to her child to the world of poetry. Anyway, I ended up getting a copy myself! So great to see more of her poems here!
