Notes About The Poem

Watching Shadows Shine

Watching Shadows Shine

Listening to the shadows
slipping softly in my room.
I can hear their laughter
as they drive away the gloom.

Shadows love the nighttime
and they are friends of mine.
I sit in the darkness
and I watch the shadows shine.

They sneak beneath the door
where they're dancing in the halls.
They gather at my feet
and then climb my bedroom walls.

They frolic just like children do
when crawling on their knees.
Or playing in a forest
out somewhere climbing trees.

Shadows sometimes comfort me
and say I'll be just fine.
That's why I love the nighttime
and watching shadows shine.

Very nice! It has a lilting cadence to it. Possibly small typo in second stanza...friend--friends? Enjoyed! BG

Amazing imagery - listening to the shadows laughing - what an image this conjures up in my mind - makes me think of sitting in front of a log fire:-) Hugs Jan xx 7 xx
