Watching Mallards

I watched the Mallards on the lake

The females fighting off the Drakes,

Those girls they fled across the pond

Some flew off to far beyond,

Eventually they all found pairs

For each of us needs one who cares,

Love, be it fate or luck

We all seek it, even ducks.
