Watching

I am watching, A single leaf handing by a thin thread. Has been there for days, May twist and turn so many ways. The leaf dances with such grace, Only feet from my face. What does it think? No longer attached to a tree, Green and shimmering at the end of a limb. Detached now from where it began, Dances now with its friend. I am watching, As leaves fill gutters. Oh, what a clutter! Pushes the water away, To the stream, that way. The gutters are there, For people that care. I am watching, The sun come up, A lovely quiet Sunday. I am watching, As you go by. Do you see the leaf, Out of the corner of your eye?
