Was It Ever Worth It

I constantly think to myself,
Wondering if our relationship,
Was ever worth fighting for?
Was it all worth it,
Even though the results end,
With you leaving me?
I make myself believe it was worth it,
Because I cared so much,
And I wanted to be with you.
Now, when it’s all over,
And you have moved on,
Forgetting what we had,
Were you worth holding onto?
Were you worth thinking about,
After everything we had been through?
These pondering thoughts remind me,
That we did have something,
For a short while.
Then that special feeling,
Disappeared forever,
And to this day,
I continue to ask myself,
That haunting question,
“Was it worth loving you?”…
