Wars End
It began with the slaughter of animals in ancient times,
and the killing of peoples who had different beliefs.
The centuries are filled with the repetitious cycle of
justifying genocides, and oppression to end suffering.
It is the nature of man to try to correct the wrongs,
In our country by violence, and in others by war.
When will we understand the meaning of peace?
Why do we constantly want to turn others to our ways?
Why do we resist other races, and other religions;
thinking ours is the only God who can make us whole?
We must shed our egos, and suspicions if we are to live
In a world filled with hate, and prejudice, distrust.
Go back far enough, and we were one race, one color.
In the end we will all be one race, and one color again.
Only then will we be whole, and recognize a God
Who will guide us to see beyond the different cultures,
and see a body of souls gathered together in peace.
