Warm Tonight

wondering how many around the world are a little too warm in their beds tonight new spring heat feet throbbing from days work sheet touching tender ankles pain shoots up warm sheets warm breath of my lover as he drifts into sleep days over at least he's resting now yet work thoughts swirl my brain money one sons heartbreak anothers illness anothers life anguish and its not just the heat making our beds warm tonight another unrelenting day will come tasks will be undone decisons unrendered elusive peace of mind.

some days there is not even a small joy, and certainly no hope or relief when everyone in the family is suffering, hearts are broken and there is no money to be found, despite hard work. At least my love could rest, and I could carry the whole burden for a small while. That was a small peace.

"Warm Tonight" has a greatness to it. Almost like a favorite passage of a book. With "warm breath of my lover reaches the poetic ending with envious solitude for any one reader. thanks. jan
