Warm Night In June
I sit and watch the lights that line the pier
I sit and listen to the waves in the dark
I hear the amusement arcades tunes
On this warm night in June
I hear the laughter and the fun
Of the people all around
Seaside smells of fish and chips
And seeing young people staggering drunk
Having such a fun time
On this warm night in June
The season will be over too soon
And then the fun dies down
And the arcades close
And the lights go out along the pier
But the sound of the waves is always there
This reflects how we’ve been over the years
You’ve gone but I am always here
The fun has ended now there is only tears
This will be the future I fear
Until I find a warm night in June
With someone else but it won’t be you.
