War Pollution

You speak of climate.
Yet prepare for war.

O rulers of
Europe
and America,
your tongues divide in two.

One voice warns of fire
in the atmosphere.

The other
lights the match.

You preach stability.
Yet cultivate chaos.

You promise peace.
Yet fund the thunder
of guns
and bombs.

Smoke rises to the sky.
The Earth remembers.

War poisons more
than land.

It stains the air.
It scars the oceans.
It burdens the future.

You say there is no money
to end poverty.

Yet gold appears quickly
when weapons are needed.

This is the arithmetic
of power.

War after war
fills the air with ashes
and the soil with sorrow.

And the Earth—
patient but wounded—
endures your madness.

But remember:

The planet is older
than every empire.

If cruelty continues,
nature will defend itself.

Not with anger—
but with consequence.

For the Earth
does not belong to rulers.

Rulers belong
to the Earth.
