War and My Soldier

War And My Soldier _______________________________ Has your love been called to war, do you feel all alone does the emptiness confine you like a prison in your home? Do you worry all the time, that it's driving you insane but feel the honor of them serving you feel guilty to complain. I know how you're feeling, I've been there myself the days never pass fast enough but the worries pile the shelf. You wait by the phone, in fear you'll miss their call praying that they'll be okay when you don't hear from them at all. You fill a box with things, memories shipped overseas wondering if they'll get it in such trying times like these. You're constantly watching t.v, praying the news wont be so bad keeping family moral when it feels like alls been had. You go on each day as you have the last, your children by your side hoping and praying soon they'll return in the silence you confide. Dreading that you could hear the knock, as doubts fill within you heart yet still staying strong though you fall apart. Then the days finally reaches end, and they're right back in your bed and everything so different and things are left unsaid. You are so happy they're home, even though things have changed a bit but you still love one another because you chose to never quit. 6/23/14-Jessica Thompson
