War
Sounding of gun fire absorbed by weeping souls
A Drumbeat roar, admiration bled slowly through the air
Reemergence for all those that bared his memories
The boy grew dreaming of touching the stars
Dancing amongst them all, life was not easy for this boy
Growing without a father cloaked in a mothers desire
Pain left unseen rearranging too means
Caught a flight through the sky’s at eighteen
For a star spangled dream
Little to no thought, of returning
Passing over unfamiliar landscapes
Adrenaline rushed to the brain and heart
The sounds began as daybreak took
Increased respirations easily could be heard across,
and beyond any barrier of sound.
Stinging vessels from months of sweating;
formed a crown, around many heads.
A halo that shadowed;
imprinted upon foreheads, marked amongst the dead.
Wake up!
March on!
Stand together,
Be-strong!
Wake from this dream;
A nightmare!
Dare not to scream.
Wake up!
March on!
Stand together!
Be-strong!
Screams, sounds that echoed from darkened gun- fire- storms
Particles finding trails of sweat; sticking hardening the next breathe
No money for college death would fill the debt
