Wand'Rin' Sadie
They say that the blues come 'round on Monday
And, friend, it just may be true what they say
But the blues sure don't use just that one day
Because I damn sure have got 'em today
I used to be just a travellin' man
'Til I met that gal that they call Sadie
I settled down on a dry piece of land
An' made sure they knew she was my lady
It wasn't long 'fore Sadie went wand'rin'
An' left me here on that dry piece of land
There ain't no help in sittin' here pond'rin -
Sadie just laughed as she took a new man
So I'll take the blues on down that dirt road
An' hope that travellin' lightens the load
