Waltzing Without You
The reason I yelled,
I lost my mind.
It slipped away.
stolen by the war,
and my own human failings.
You were right,
I was wrong.
You are not here,
to hear,
but I know…
somewhere in heaven,
they are whispering…
the joke,
at my expense.
I do not mind.
I am stupid.
I went to the doctor.
I take pills.
It is not a perfect solution,
but we have a plan. (the doc and I)
You always liked it,
When “we” had a plan. (you and I)
Like going to the lake.
Like swimming in the dark.
Like living in my heart forever…
Oh, that was my plan.
Sorry.
