Walls Around My Heart
The walls around my heart was built;
Warmly covered with a cosy quilt.
But the bitter cold is seeping through;
Whatever shall I do?
The walls have started to crack;
The bricks are falling down in a pack!
They’re falling, more and more;
This is bad, opened the love store!
I thought my heart was tucked away safe;
But now feelings are washing over it, wave by wave.
I have been hurt before;
Don’t want to be hurt no more!
The sore aching pain;
With nothing to ever gain!
They say that they love you;
And promise that their love was never so true.
But in the bitter end,
Away with you, go, they send!
Leaving you with a heart so broken;
Without a single return token!
That is why my walls were built
I don’t want to feel it, the guilt,
Of someone loving me,
Because all I wanted was to be free!
Until you came along;
Singing your own sad song!
You cracked my walls, broke them down;
And left me without a frown.
All you said was really true,
You asked for no more hurting you.
So we decided to be a friend;
Stay that way until the end.
But now, we’ve both got a loving feeling;
You’ve changed my mind, got it reeling!
I love you!
Honestly I do!
Please just don’t break this heart of mine;
‘Cos that’ll be like a kick to the spine;
A knife in the heart;
Even a poisoned dart!
This is the last chance;
at a little romance.
So please, let your love be true
because I really do love you!
All my walls are down;
let our love now wear the crown!
